APM 9.5.3: perflog.txt (what is it and what is it used for?)

Hello,

 

I noticed on our wily graph for our EM server that the CPU utilization goes up and down every 2 minutes, I checked the Enterprise manager.logfile but do not see it updating every couple of minutes or so.

I do see the perflog.txt file's timestamp updating every few minutes, not sure on how to read the file:

 

any tips are appreciated.
