    Hi

I came across a very useful  tool to troubleshoot connectivity issues and especially related to ports that CA Client Automation uses.

It is a Microsoft utility called PortQryUI which is a graphical tool to check TCP and UDP ports which is very useful in cases where the administrator who is using CA Client Automation may not be aware of network changes but sees in DSM Explorer that agents are not reporting in or may be having issues using deployment wizard and or agent discoveries. It can be helpful to use this tool to verify that the ports are open bi directionally so cam communication

    can take place

Here is the link to the utility

This is an example of what you would expect for a successful check of port 4728 TCP which is the pmux port

just enter the FQDN or the IP address of the target you are verifying and  the port and protocol and hit query.

For a complete listing of the required ports for CA Client Automation please review the CA Implementation guide Appendix B: Ports Used by CA Client Automation on page 515. This is available in your installation media under the DOC subdirectory.

    Thanks Jo

One correction port 4728 is not the pmux port

4728 is the data stream port used by nos-less transfer, DTS and remote control

the default PMUX port is 7163 TCP

    Regards
