Usually this means that ODBC Client layer was not able to connect to the ODBC Server for some reason.
If this was working and then stopped, then mostly like there was an issue on the SDM Server hosting the ODBC Server component. There are 2 ODBC services that run on that box. You could also run into such behavior if SDM was not running etc.,
If this never worked before – after checking the above, you could check connectivity between the ODBC Client and Server.
ODBC Test via odbcad32.exe program is another way to test connectivity etc., Identify the Service Desk Manager driver (casd_SDMHostname is the default name), click Configure and Test.
