Jobs not appearing in logs

In our Sandbox environment jobs do not appear to be running.

 

If a user selects a job to run, the egg-timer appears and it does look like the job has been successfully submitted to run.

But when we check the Job Logs there is no sign of the jobs running, if they have failed or if they have been successful. On the application servers, I cannot see anything in the app-ca.log files to suggest an error either.

 

Has anyone encountered this before? I could just try a restart of the services but I would like to get some background info as to what might be causing this, so that we can avoid it in the future.
