I'm installing Jaspersoft and run into this error "[create-ks] Failed to create a keystore and a key"

Keystore may have been tempered with.

Any idea why and/or how to resolve it?

    Hi Tai,

In order to generate the key store correctly you need to ensure the organization name is filled in correctly in the CSA. If its rightly said then execute the Key Store command as Senthil said and then copy it to Jaspersoft folder. Let us know how it goes.

I think that is what I'm missing as well. I'm fairly new as this and I cannot find the organizational field anywhere when I'm in the CSA.  We have a brand new installation with nothing much on it (just an fyi).

you need to navigate to Reports tab in CSA and under Jaspersoft you will see the organization name. You need to fill the same and then try the key store.

Ok I got the key store generated but I cannot find the directory to

Make them available in Jaspersoft installation in the following directory:

    <Jaspersoft Tomcat>\webapps\reportservice\WEB-INF\config\

I apologize for the limited knowledge here.  I thought I was installing Jaspersoft Server I guess the document I have from CA is to install the Jaspoersoft application?

Do you know what document I need to get or where to get it from the CA website.

I appreciate all the help you're providing.

    HI Tain,

No worries at all, the installation guide provides the information for CA PPM as well as Jaspersoft, you have installed the CA PPM, now you need to download the Jaspersoft from the CA Support site and follow the installation guide.

This is an update on this issue.

The issue is occurring during the Jaspersoft install.

Once all the paramerers are entered and verified, the install fails in less than 1 minute.

The errors seen are listed below.

[create-ks] Failed to create a keystore and a key

    BUILD FAILED

/apps/opt/.../jaspersoft/buildomatic/build.xml:61: The following error occurred while executing this line:

/apps/opt/.../jaspersoft/buildomatic/bin/setup.xml:320: Keystore may have been tempered with.

The same error occurred when using a previously installed Tomcat 7.

We extracted the Tomcat.zip from the Jaspersoft installation disk and used that with the install, same error.

    Hi All,

I am new to Jaspersoft and its installation

Few questions regarding the key store generation.

1.Need to ensure the organization name is filled in correctly in the CSA.

From where we have to verify the organization name ? in CSA it is blank initially.

    2. To generate keystore we have to run 'admin jasper keystore' command. I have confusion in the next step

    admin jasper generate [ -key <key> - password  <password> ]

Here what 'key' we have to use?

    3. in CSA  reporting, it is showing the status of reporting server as 'Unavailable' after jaspersoft installation same for DWH also. when this status will be changed?

Can anyone please help me on this?

    Thanks in advance

    Agin

    Hi Agin,

To generate the keystore you need to ensure the Jaspersoft is running, and in the reporting section it should show available. If its not then you need to see if jaspersoft is running or not. DWH and Jaspersoft is two different things and status is not dependent on each othere.

    Hi Suman,

    Thanks for clarifying my queries.

Can you clarify the doubt regarding my 2nd query also? I am just pasting my 2nd query again.

    2. To generate keystore we have to run 'admin jasper keystore' command. I have confusion in the next step

    admin jasper generate [ -key <key> - password  <password> ]

when you generate key store its a combination of key and password but you done need to add anything. Once you see jaspersoft available and fill in the organization name then you need to go to command prompt and enter admin jasper keystore and it will generate the keystore files under config directory.

    Thanks Suman,

One more question regarding the keystore is below.

1.Need to ensure the organization name is filled in correctly in the CSA.

From where we have to verify the organization name ? in CSA it is blank initially.

Why am asking all this question is because DB team is creating all those schemas (Jasper schema and DWH schema). Hence i don't have any clear picture on those items.

We have installed Jaspersoft in our server with the information provided by the Development team.Installation build was successful without any error. after starting Tomcat, we tried to connect the jaspersoft server. But it was not taking us in. on our analysis, we found that the domain name provided for installation was wrong. Now we go back to the Development team, they have given a new domain id. Without uninstalling, how we can change the domain id? {making changes in web.xml (highlighted)(1st part of web.xml file

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>^M

    <web-app xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" version="2.4" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee/web-app_2_4.xsd">^M

      <display-name>JasperServer UI application</display-name>^M

      <context-param>^M

        <param-name>webAppRootKey</param-name>^M

        <param-value>http://<domain id >:<port number>/report service</param-value>^M

      </context-param>^M

      <listener>^M

} will this work or not?

    Thanks

    Agin

    Hi Agin,

For Jaspersoft installation you dont need any domain name for installation. There must be something wrong the flow is

    For Jaspersoft installation

    1. Create the jaspersoft schema as per install guide

    2. Start the jaspersoft installation

    3. once the installation is completed

    4. Start the jaspersoft service by executing startup.sh/startup.bat under bin folder

    5. Try to open the URL  http://<domain id >:<port number>/report service

Once you have the jaspersoft working then you can fill the organization name, import the jaspersoft content, generate key store. For more detail look at our install guide

    Hope this helps

    Hi Suman,

    Thanks for your prompt response.

While installing Jaspersoft, we have to provide the information.

    "Enter Jaspersoft webapp name"

    http:// <domain_name>:<portnumber>/report service

Can you explain what this 'report service' means. Is it the path where we are deploying the Jaspersoft server with respect to home directory?

    Best Regards,

    Agin

The webapp name is nothing but the folder name under which jaspersoft will be installed.
