  • 1.  Problem with "updatealarm" utility in SANM

    Posted Oct 01, 2015 01:02 PM

    Hi Everyone,

We need to use the "updatealarm" utility to implement one of our requirement. We tried to use the same but we are receiving the "segmentation fault" error when we execute the utility. We are using the syntax specified in the SANM guide.

    updatealarm modelhandle alarmid attrid attrvalue

Kindly help us in solving this issue.

    Thank you

A quick check does not show any other reported issues with alarm update seg faulting. I highly recommend opening a case with CA Spectrum Support so a Support Engineer can work with you to find the root cause and resolution.

Actually we do have a fix for this in H02 and above for 9.3 and h02 and above for 9.4 as well:

Symptom: The updatealarm executable crashes due to an access violation.

Resolution: Fixed the incorrect condition check on the localized argument.

What version of Spectrum are you running?

    Cheers

If you are running on 9.4 then make sure that you have installed either 9.4.2.1 or 9.4.3.  If you are running 9.4.0 base or 9.4.1 then you will need to install 9.4.3 which has this fix.  If you are running 9.4.2.1 or 9.4.3 then you should open a support ticket as we’ll need to investigate the problem…
