error in Brand

    After installing Nolio with no visible errors I signed on to the tool.  The Icon on my desktop does not work, nothing happens, no errors.  So I use the http://localhost:8080/nolio-app/ and click on logon on to management console.  After entering superuser and suser the screen pops up and the message ERROR IN BRAND displays at the top.  There is no functionality in the tool I can see reports and dashboard and that is all.  Any ideas why the tool does not work properly.

    Hello,

     

    It sounds like the installation was not completed correctly even though it may not have been indicated via the installer.  Is this version 5.5.2?  It is probably best to go ahead and open a support ticket so we can take a look at this further.. I would definitely like to take a look at the logs folder from the NAC.  Let me know if you have any questions at all, thanks.

    I agree with Jeremy. One thing that would be of interest is whether or not the install was done using a response file. If so, then maybe it is related to the nolio.branding.name value being given.

    What is a response File?  I have the nolio_agent_windows_3_3_1_b212.exe that I executed as ‘run as administrator’.  Everything installed with no issues and servers are running.

    Its version 3.3.1.b212 running windows 8.1.  Very frustrating. No errors in the installation, both servers are running.  Icon does not work click on it and the Nolio Green screen comes up and then disappears.

    If you are referring to the version of Nolio being 3.3.1 then this no longer supported. I don't know if that version was even ever run on Windows 8.1. With that said, maybe someone else in this community has some ideas that could help. But, in general, I would highly recommend getting the latest version (as of now 5.5.2).  If that isn't an option, and from your recent update you weren't using a silent installer, then do you have the product documentation for that version? If so, then I would check the release notes and install guide for the certified platforms to make sure that it supported 8.1. If not then try installing it on the latest version of windows that it supported.

    Can you put screenshot with the error?

    Did you use the same machine to login to other ASAP systems? you can try remove javaws cache using javaws -uninstall

    What jre version you use for lunching ASAP ? try with jre 1.6

    Can you login to the ROC?

    If the issue is only in the ASAP you can check the logs in C:\Users\USERNAME\.nolio\logs\nolio_app_all.log

    Looks like bad credentials?  I am using Java 1.6.  What is ROC?

    From the logs its look like wrong user/password - did you verify you using the correct credentials?

    In V3.3.X we had customize version for OEM and this might be related.

    Which installer did you use for install the server?

    Do you have branding.properties in conf folder?

    This is the first time using Nolio so pardon my questions Thanks for helping out much appreciated!!

    When I installed it I when asked for credentials I clicked the box to use local credentials and continued.  When I log in I use superuser.  I tried to use ./administrator,localhost/BJacobs but the Nolio server would never run.  It would only install correctly if I used local credentials.

     

    In V3.3.X we had customize version for OEM and this might be related.

    nolio_agent_windows_3_3_1_b212 is use for installing agents and not server instance , can it be you might use different installer?

    What happend if you just point your browser to http://localhost:8080?

    lets check if the server start correctly

    Stop the nolio server service , clean logs folder , start nolio server service ,wait 2-3 min and attach nolio_dm_all.log

    If you look at the logs you will see error that the server can't find nolio_db.version_table

    Can you verify its exist and has value?

    There are 284 tables in nolio_db but that one does not exist.  The installation show create that table right?  There are no tables that start with nolio.

    Since you just install the system I think best way will be to run new installation (Drop the current DB) and better to use the latest RA version since V3.3. is very old one

    I dropped the DB and did a total reinstall, the version table still is not on the nolio_db.  This is the only version of nolio I have so there are no other options.  Could I create the nolio_db.version_table manually if so what does is consist of and what values need to be on it.  Are there other tables missing?  I have 284 tables in nolio_db.

    Got my hands on a 5.5 version.  I dropped the nolio_db and uninstalled Nolio.  I then tried the 5.5 version nolio_server_windows-x64_5_5_0_b831.exe when the installer tries to load I am getting the error “An internal error occurred (error code: 34) C:\Users\Bruce\AppData\Local\Temp\ij4_nlog_5 and the installer stops.

     

    Ij4_nlog_5 keeps incrementing every time I try to install it.  So the next one will be ij4_nlog_6.  Any ideas?

    I would recommend first trying to execute it by right clicking on the .exe and selecting "Run As Administrator". If that doesn't solve the error then you can use microsofts free fciv download (download to the directory where the .exe is located) to verify the integrity of the .exe. That binary should have an md5 of:

    I was able to successfully install version 5.5 and get the designer screen to display.  Thanks for your help!!  I created a test application, component, server types, when I try to add and action there are no actions to display.  I cannot add an action unless there is one to choose from.  Where does the actions come from?
