    HI Team,

Kindly let us know how can we monitor the Application URL from CA WILY APM.

We need to monitor the Helpdesk Link portal status availability.

Kindly provide the steps to proceed on this.

    Thanks

    Shwetha

    Hi Shwetha:

Are you talking with Introscope, CEM, or both. With CEM, you would record a transaction and enable a definition for monitoring. That is covered in the APM Transaction Definition Guide. You can then monitor missing response and get metrics in Introscope. I believe that the RTTM integration also has availability metrics.

    Thanks

If it is only URL monitoring..try Nimsoft..it is straight forward.

It would be tricky in CA APM..because you need to record the complete transaction and configure monitoring

    Thanks,

    Samba.

    Hi Shwetha,

Are you looking to monitor the activity going through the URL or are you wanting for of a way to drive a request through the URL?

If you are looking for the performance of the URL/Application, then CEM or the browser agent might do the trick.

If you are looking for APM to make the request through the URL, then you need to use the CA Cloud Monitor or CA UIM (Unified Infrastructure Management) to use a URL request monitor to see if the URL is active.

We use HP SiteScope to drive URL requests through a synthetic browser for URL and URL sequences (logging into the application)

Another way we have monitored our CA Service Desk is to use the WebService API to log in through a SOAP messages using SiteScope.  Pretty sure that UIM can also drive SOAP messages.

    Hope this helps,
