Newer to Autosys.  Have a job that failed with Exit Code 16?  Where do I find a listing of exit codes for job failures and what they mean?  Thanks!

Rc=16 could mean many things. I suggest you check the logfile in the spool-directory and in you might also want to check your agentlog-directory to know why your job has failed.

    Good luck!

Looked in Agent log but was not much help.  Shows processing and then the exit code.  will investigate further.  thanks.

Was Autosys just dumped into your lap? I am surprised that whomever installed it or handled the project did not make sure there was some training.

exit 16 can mean diff things on diff platforms

in the old days 16 was relegated to adapter errors.

on windows it can mean a system issue.

    etc..

You guessed it!  Work in Oil Industry.  Was given a crash course on Autosys and was handed the application.

Here is a link to the CA Message Reference Guide.

Be aware though that not all messages have an error cause listed.

A job exit code is typically what is returned by the jobs command. As several folks have mentioned they can vary by platform.

When troubleshooting I recommend checking the following:

    Agent job log:

    • version 11.0 found in autoremotedir
    • version 11.3 found in agent spool directory

    job std_out and std_err files

check operating system documentation / forums

if custom program check with application team

and depending on the exit ; it is a negative return that means it came from the system and not autosys and little Endean comp wasn't done.

check the detail view.. via autorep and see if you couldn't write to logfile etc etc etc
