Hi,

When user attempts to ftp, he receives error “530 PASS command failed message received from FTP server” ftp.  I have added his UID to OMVS segment but did not resolve the issue.UID is in the FTP rule dataset.

I would appreciate any help that you can give on this issue.

Hi,

This can be a simple as needing a complete OMVS segment; UID, GROUP with a valid GID, Default Group & Home or more complicated depending on what release of z/OS you are running. Do you use Top Secret or ACF2 (and what release) and what is your version of z/OS?  Does the user have a password longer than 8 characters? And what other cooresponding messages are they receiving?  This may be a better question to be posed in a case since there are so many variables.

Unfortunately, I don't have ansswer for  the following questions Neither of

my colleagues , so I had to request answer from out hardware/OS provider.

On Friday 11/13 I opened a ticket with vendor requesting the information.

  what is your version of z/OS?

what release of z/OS

We are using ACF2.

This user has two UIDs on can ftp but the other UID can't . I check OMVS

segment, his UID that works is not there. Even though I add the "problem"

UID to the OMVS segment, the problem still persists.

This is Michael Blaha with ACF2 support. It would be best to open a Case for the 530 Pass command failed error, we will need to get some documentation

to help diagnose the error, such as theACF2 ACFRPTOM report, and a TSO, ACF LIST of the logonid and corresponding OMVS Profile records.
