Check for duplicate data in Affected Service / CI

Hi Community,

 

I've been asked to look into a way of checking for duplicate data in Affected Service and CI before the analyst saves the incident.  I couldn't see an easy way to accomplish this on the forms or data partitions.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  We have custom major incident notification and it looks weird when both the CI and Affected service both have the same data.  Ideally there is a way for the system to alert the analyst of the duplicate and stop them from saving the record until it's fixed.
