from Shyam Beerakayala (CA) to Everyone:

    Good Morning Martti

from Shyam Beerakayala (CA) to Everyone:

we will wait few more minutes

from Shyam Beerakayala (CA) to Everyone:

    Good afternoon all

from Shyam Beerakayala (CA) to Everyone:

    Let's get started

    from Andy M to Everyone:

Hi Shyam, is there any news on the hopper timesheet UI you could share?

from Shyam Beerakayala (CA) to Everyone:

@Andy, sorry, I do not right now, will post on the communities

    from Andy M to Everyone:

thank you, the other question I have is in regards to hidden linking. On some of the CA portlets, they use hidden links. i.e. timesheet reveiw uses content.copTimesheetRedirect. how can we re-use them?

from Shyam Beerakayala (CA) to Everyone:

@Andy, where do you intend to reuse ?

    from Andy M to Everyone:

in a custom portlet to allow a direct link to the timesheet (this is better than the re-direct technique)

    from Martti K. to Everyone:

Any thoughts on how to remove the levels past 10 in the department OBS? You get that when you make a department with several levels of children the child of a department which is already at the lowest level. No probelm thar with departments, but no functionality of any sort as an OBS where you can only vitnes that there are more levels than what is possible to create for an OBS.

    from Martti K. to Everyone:

Is there a manual available for the Data Integrity services add on?

from Shyam Beerakayala (CA) to Everyone:

@Andy, @Martti, we are reviewing your questions

from Tunji Abiri (CA) to Everyone:

@Marti how have you gone beyond level 10 when 10 is the maximum?

    from Martti K. to Everyone:

@Tunji No - sort of. I had 7 levels of departments and created an Obsole branch wanted to hide that at the bottom.

from Shyam Beerakayala (CA) to Everyone:

@Andy, unfortunately, you cannot reuse the hidden links

    from Vincent Frimpong(CA) to Everyone:

@Marti - Are you referring to Integration adaptor?

    from Martti K. to Everyone:

After having moved some departments under the Obsolete I realised that they had children. Looking at  it as an OBS then displayed 12 level. Not error of any sort at any stage and after having moved the units out of the levels 11 and 12 now way of removingthose levels.

    from Andy M to Everyone:

@Shyam. oh ok, that's a shame. I will share my "trick" on getting a direct timesheet link in a future tuesday tip. (no customisation, just sneaky configuration!)

    from Martti K. to Everyone:

    @Vincent I am referring to http://www.ca.com/~/media/Files/Add-OnServicesComponents/317_Data_Integrity_CA_Clarity_PPM.pdf

from Shyam Beerakayala (CA) to Everyone:

@Martti, for the OBS issue, I recommend you please open a support case, this needs further analysis

    from Martti K. to Everyone:

    @Vincentg I am referring to http://www.ca.com/~/media/Files/Add-OnServicesComponents/317_Data_Integrity_CA_Clarity_PPM.pdf

from Shyam Beerakayala (CA) to Everyone:

@Martti, we will look for more documentation on this and post it on the communities

    from Martti K. to Everyone:

@Shyam, Anybody can do that with the departments. Is there a limit stated somewhere for the number of level in departments. I can't think of seeing any ever.

    from Martti K. to Everyone:

OK I'll be waiting to see if you find any docs on DI.

    from Martti K. to Everyone:

Was not trying to be rude or ignore your greetin at the beginning, hust had to step outside for a while. Again had this problem to establish exactly when this would start.

from Shyam Beerakayala (CA) to Everyone:

    @Martti, thats fine

    from Namita Mishra to Everyone:

@Martti, This is regarding the OBS levels. We support 10 levels for all the OBSs...

    from Namita Mishra to Everyone:

You can check the Administration guide

    from Namita Mishra to Everyone:

we have a topic in that guide "Create OBS Level"

    from Namita Mishra to Everyone:

sorry, topic is "Create OBS Type"

    from Namita Mishra to Everyone:

For example: the admin guide content mentions as:

    from Namita Mishra to Everyone:

    Levels

Defines the OBS level. At least one OBS level is required.

Example: For a location OBS, create Country as level 1 and State as level 2.

    Limits: 10 levels

    from Martti K. to Everyone:

@Namita - but I did with department not as an OBS Is there anything for departments. A typical approach is just to create the financial OBS with onlz the required information and then supplement that with more data as departments and locations.

    from Martti K. to Everyone:

On the other hand if the department OBS is read only there is no need to specify any limits while the departmes are modifiable and the a good place for the documentation to cover is from that side.

    from Martti K. to Everyone:

What is the biggest problem having more than 10 levels of departments if you only have units a level below 10?

    from Vincent Frimpong(CA) to Everyone:

@Martti we were referring to OBS

    from Vincent Frimpong(CA) to Everyone:

@Martti are you referring to sub departments?

    from Martti K. to Everyone:

A department is also an unit in an OBS

    from Vincent Frimpong(CA) to Everyone:

@Martti note that obs level is different from odb unit

    from Martti K. to Everyone:

So moving subdepartments around will chang the OBS as well and you cannot avoid that.

    from Martti K. to Everyone:

There does not seem to be anything preventing fro mcreating Parent dep - Child dep - Child dep - Child dep - Child dep - Child dep - Child dep - Child dep - Child dep - Child dep - Child dep - Child dep - Child dep - Child dep - Child dep - Child dep

    from Martti K. to Everyone:

    or is there?

    from Namita Mishra to Everyone:

this is Department and sub departments that you must be creating

from Shyam Beerakayala (CA) to Everyone:

@Martti, this is different from the OBS levels which has a limit of 10 levels

    from Namita Mishra to Everyone:

yes, this is different and for sub departments 10 level is not the limit

from Shyam Beerakayala (CA) to Everyone:

@Martti, we would be happy to help you more on this via a support case

    from Martti K. to Everyone:

@Shyam plese elaborate in which way is that diferent

from Shyam Beerakayala (CA) to Everyone:

any more questions before we close this session?

    from Martti K. to Everyone:

@Namita are you seeing diferent levels for departments and OBS units?

    from Martti K. to Everyone:

IS there a liit for sub deparments?

    from Namita Mishra to Everyone:

For Department and sub department there is not the limit of 10 levels

    from Martti K. to Everyone:

Is there a liit for subdepartments?

    from Namita Mishra to Everyone:

this 10 level limit is for the OBS levels

    from Namita Mishra to Everyone:

When you just create the sub departments via Home -> Organization -> Departments

    from Martti K. to Everyone:

Yes and the department structure is an OBS structure as well and there is nothing a user can do about that.

    from Namita Mishra to Everyone:

you can create any number of sub departments

    from Martti K. to Everyone:

Thanks @Namit so no limit for dep levels in the system.

    from Namita Mishra to Everyone:

@Martti yes for the subdepartments created from Department

from Shyam Beerakayala (CA) to Everyone:

thanks everyone, we will close this session now and see you in December

    from Namita Mishra to Everyone:

    Thanks everyone for joining

from Shyam Beerakayala (CA) to Everyone:

    Have a nice day!

@Andy - This is in context of reuse of the link 'content.copTimesheetRedirect'. You cannot reuse it as it is however you can copy the URL which you get on clicking Timesheet link (of the Timesheet Review portlet) and based on this URL you can create your own URL and use it in the query for your custom portlet.

You can get an example of how to create the URL by looking at the 'timesheet_link' field present in the NSQL of 'Timesheet Review' portlet.

    Hope this helps!!

Namita, thanks for the reply and the tip.

As I said I know a way to generate a custom link, just wanted to see if there was a way to re-use it rather than create new!
