Hello Guys, Please is possible to check the use of software by users?

Example: Check how many times a particular User used Word or Excel within a  period "X".

To do this you have to enable Software usage.

This is done by Software, usage will run all day and collect data of when the software is started and stopped.

You should not enable usage for more than 1 piece of software at a time, since enable usage does add overhead on the agent

and the overall environment..

I enabled the Software Usage as directed by Gordon, but so far nothing appears on the chart.

Configured to monitor one machine (Google Chrome Browser) for testing.

Attached to configuration made;

Does this missing anything else?

Check your software signature to make sure you have the metering start/stop file defined correctly.

Hi Alex,

You cannot use the CA provided signatures as they do not contain a metering start stop file name. You need to create your own SW signature with “chrome.exe” as the file to be metered.

Hello guys,

I have created a customized software signature for (Google Chrome - chrome.exe).

And I enabled Software Usage.

It is possible I only monitor a machine specifies?

Note: From what I noticed in our environment he is monitoring for all computers. But I want only one machine at this time.

The SW signature will be sent to all computers but the metering will only be enabled where you have configured. This can be done at a computer or computer group level.
