  • 1.  OBS rights exist while the object is not associated with an OBS

    Just wondering again...

Looking at some rights in v13.3 system I concluded that fro some objects OBS rights exist while the object is not associated with an OBS.

    How did that happen?

It is possible to assign those rights users, groups etc, but would they really work if the object is not associated with an OBS.

That means that the instances are not associated with any unit and thus the rights should not work- right?

Is it possible that the those objects were once associated with an that or another OBS but that association is not removed?

(There is nobody who can tell)

It might be possible that the OBS was marked for use in security and then unmarked and the configuration of the access rights remained.

Try marking the OBS again for access rights, and then check for the rights at the OBS Unit levels.

    Thnaks.

That is the other part. Itt is not a real issue at this point. If OBS rights were assigned to those object they would be useless as the instances of the objects do not have the OBS section in properties and cannot be associated with an unit.

I've seen similar happen when an OBS was deleted and XOG back after modifications. The associations where still there.
