DevTest Service Virtualization Image Recorder: Capturing and Virtualize Sql Server Database traffic from .net application using the .Net framework Data Provider for SQL Server (non-JDBC) , possible?

    Its documented that DevTest Service Virtualization can capture and virtualize JDBC based communication. Its possible to capture and virtualize Sql Server Database traffic from a .net application using the .Net Framework Data Provider for Sql Server. Or the only option is to abstract it and consume it into a service and consume it using a protocol that is supported like http?

     

    Your opinions will be appreciated.

    Hello, 

     

    Unfortunately, you cannot capture JDBC traffic using a .NET application.

    The only way to capture JDBC traffic using DevTest is through a java application with the DevTest agent installed.

    However, there are several limitations to this approach.

    If you would like to pursue this path, please open a support ticket and we can talk in detail.

     

    A better option is CA Test Data Manager. It specializes creating testing data using production data, data profiling and/or masking engines.
