Logmon - Variables Help

Question asked by sbolyard1 on Dec 28, 2015

I need some help with adding a second variable.  I've tested my Regular Expressions and they do exactly what I want them to do, but the second variable does not display the information that I expect.  I've put a sample log below.  I need to pull the host name (SERVER1), which current works and the data after <MESSAGE> and place it in the alert message.  The alert message displays my variable name ($message).  I need it to provide this: 71 new application errors were found in the TEST instance, in the TEST namespace.  This is higher than the configured threshold of 50.

Match Expression:

Variable #1:

Works

Variable #2:

Threshold = /<MESSAGE>\n(.*?)\n</

Log example:

<INSTANCE>TEST</INSTANCE>

<MESSAGE>

71 new application errors were found in the TEST instance, in the TEST namespace.  This is higher than the configured threshold of 50.

</MESSAGE>

<TIMESTAMP>1451297721</TIMESTAMP>

<ORGANIZATION>TEST</ORGANIZATION>

<HOSTNAME>SERVER1</HOSTNAME>

<CID>123</CID>
