What is meant by the word Swing Box .
While i am upgrading it shows swing box method. I don't know what is meant?
Hi Arun, Peter De Zutter had responded to you previously on this one, however I can explain a bit more here. The term "swing box" or "swing environment" refers to an interim environment, which starts as a replica of your current production environment, which will be used for properly testing out your upgrade and migration of SDM to a new version. You can roll it back and test many times by using VMware snapshot capability if you are running in a VMware environment. This allows you to work out all the kinks and gotchas prior to doing your actual migration. Then, on your actual migration day, you can roll the swing box back to a replica of your prod environment, and use it to do the "dirty work" of migrating your data, and then you can simply copy that migrated data over to a New Prod environment running the latest and greatest OS and DB. For more information about the swing box method, please see this section of the documentation wiki: Upgrade CA SDM Using the SWING Box Method - CA Service Management - 14.1 - CA Technologies Documentation
Hope this helps,
The swing box method is a way to migrate to a recent release using a vm which is the swingbox. This is done to get rid of old artifacts of SDM and it also enables to move to a newer version of the OS.
Swing Box is the folder which is found in the sdm server pls help me.
