Hi I have been tasked with the job of finding out as much as possible about CA's DLP tool, what it is capable of and how to use it.
Can anyone give me any introductory links/software/videos/templates so I can start learning?
The best explanation would be to quote straight from their product site:
CA Data Protection provides real time risk management of internet communications, right across the organization. Specifically, CA Data Protection enables organizations to capture and control targeted email, file, IM and web activity. CA Data Protection can also monitor usage of other applications.
The following links will give you some background information on the product. Also of note is that the product has changed names. The product used to be CA Data Minder, and is now currently CA Data Protection.
The CA Data Protection Bookshelf. Everything you need to know about the product:
CA Data Protection 15.0
CA Data Protection - Source Home - CA Data Protection - 15.0 - CA Technologies Documentation
There are a few videos on the CA Communities Youtube channel as well.
CA .Communities - YouTube
Please let me know if you have any other questions and we will be happy to help.
Many thanks Eric!...time to get reading...I have used Symantec DLP's tool before so will be interesting to see how this compares from an administrators point of view.
@TigerCoco, you may also want to reach out to CA and see if they can schedule a demonstration of the product. We also may be able to help you understand what the product can offer you if you elaborate a little bit on what your positive and negative experiences were with the other product and a little bit with what sort of risks you are hoping to mitigate, and which channels you would like to monitor.
