  • 1.  In which cases will a CI automatically removed from a service tree?

    Posted Feb 12, 2016 04:06 AM

I have identified, that some of our recently made changes on connectors lead to the automatic removal of CI´s from Service Tree´s.

Can some body explain me in which cases a CI will be removed from a service tree?

Examples of changes that have been made:

    • Removal of Connector
    • Policy update with some new attribute mappings
    • Additional type mapping for spectrum connector (non devices.xml) without policy update
    • Deleting a CI in Spectrum
    • Moving a CI in Spectrum to another Landscape

    Thanks in advance.

    André

    Hello Andre,

Yes, you are correct. Apart from the above list, Service Discovery policies also would remove CIs if there were any changes in the policy files.

We can see Delete\Update messages in the IntegrationServices wrapper logs on the connector node and SOI Manager logs.

    Best Regards

    Hello André,

your question is what can cause that the modeled CI in the Service itself is deleted instead only the CI from the Connector in the SAMStore Database ? Is this correct ?

This can happen when the connector is removed from SOI or a single CI is deleted in the MDR for such CIs that have only one projection.

You may open the USM Notebook for the CI in SOI and verify if there is only one projection from the Spectrum Connector. When there is a second projection for the same CI, the modeled CI in the Service will not be deleted.

A second projection will be created when you use the WSSSAServicecmd to create a full backup xml file of all Services with their modeled CIs.
