Service Desk Manager 14.1.2 Restricts Contact Fields to Group Members

After going from 14.1.1 to 14.1.2, it seems that the "Affected End User" on IRP tickets as well as the "CAB" field on Change tickets are being restricted to members of the group if the group field is already populated.  This functionality was supposed to be a feature for the "Assignee" field to only show members of the group based on this patch, but I think it's over stepping its bounds.  Is there a fix out there for this?
