set assignee fields

Simple question on using something like 'Set_Request_Assignee' from the SDM Operators.

Under 'ServiceDesk Basic Parameters' there are only 2 fields, 'Request Number' and 'Assignee'

How do I know what data to enter in here (besides trial and error). If it said AssigneeHandle it would be easier but Assignee could mean the name, contact_id, or handle and Request Number could mean the persid, id, or ref_num.

 

I run across this a lot and wonder if there is a reference I can follow to understand this better. I'm tired of the trial and error approach.
