I made a search for customizing an export list, but I'm not sure which file to modify when customizing a list for Change Orders. I want to add "Need By Date" on the report. Can someone please help?
1/ You just need to have modify access at OS level in order to be able to work with the file. Root is not specifically needed
2/ Yes just insert as shown between the field/column you would like it to appear.
3/ Yes Any modification/customization you do need to go under the site/mods folder to prevent they are touched applying patch upgrade or any others. Except rare exception like web.cfg and few others,You must never touch the files under the bopcfg folder directly. biu copy them to you site mods reflecting the path and then modify there.
4/ You don't have to "publish" the change, however those files are cached by the server and the client. Using pdm_webcache command you force this cache to be reinitialized
Hope this clarify
list_chg.htmpl may be the file you are looking for.
<PDM_MACRO name=lsCol hdr="Need by Date" attr=need_by>
Tips: You can control what field is part of the export with the export=no parameter inside the field tag itself.
<PDM_MACRO name=lsCol hdr="Need by Date" attr=need_by export=no>
Hope this help.
It is helpful! I also just want to make sure:
1. Edit as root?
2. Insert the line above if doesn't exist?
3. I found another instruction that wants the file to be copied from NX_ROOT\bopcfg\www\htmpl\web\analyst to NX_ROOT\site\mods\www\htmpl\web\analyst. Do you know the reason why?
4. Then publish the change? (pdm_webcache -H)
