  • 1.  RO88932 - ALLOW JES(NOVERIFY) IN RELEASE 16 - need clarification

    Posted Mar 18, 2016 02:08 PM

    Hi -

Could somebody clarify what is meant by the underlined sentence in the PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
With TSS release 16.0, JES(NOVERIFY) is no longer supported. The USER= and PASSWORD= parameters are no longer inserted on the JOB card, when a job is submitted. JES(VERIFY) should be used.

Some clients have JES2 exits that rely on the USER= parameter always being on the JOB card. It is only put on the JOB card when the current user submits a job for another user.

We will restore JES(NOVERIFY) processing to insert the USER= parameter on all jobs submitted. We will not add the PASSWORD= parameter.

I don't understand (or maybe it's just because it's Friday ;-) how can a user submit a job for another user EXCEPT by putting USER= on the job card?

    Thanks, and Happy Spring!

    Don,

What is being described is exactly what you mentioned. USERA signs on to TSO, ROSCOE or other online editor and submits a job with a USER= for USERB.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.
