I had uploaded the AFL on datamarker and registered the layout as table. can someone pls help me on doing sub-setting on datamarker
I believe this relates to the support ticket you have open with us, please correct me if I am wrong.
In the Datamaker transformation screen, create a Masking transformation map for that file.
Choose a field in the file you want to subset (it does not matter which one), set the function to IGNORE, and amend the WHERE clause to set the subset criteria.
In the above example we are taking every 5th record from the file.
Save that transformation map. Save settings to file.
FTP both the AFL (from the parsing of the copybook) & the transformation.csv to the mainframe DEFCSV & MAPCSV PDS.
Assuming it is a flat file, amend JCL GTXMSKF to use the downloaded DEFCSV & MAPCSV & Input file.
Amend the STEP05.PARMCD to ensure option WHEREASSUBSET is set to Y.
Run the job GTXMSKF as per normal to get a subsetted file.
There is a little more information in the Mainframe Datamaker user guide in section “USE OF WHERE CLAUSES WHEN PROCESSING FLAT FILES”
Does that help at all or do you have any more specific questions?
