Unable to create new report template

All,

 

I am unable to create new report templates in 9.7.0.27.  I can create actions and metric groupings.  Trying to create a report template results in one of several outcomes:

  1. A popup with the message "Unknown error."  Always.
  2. A spinning cursor when hovering over the menu bar.  Always.
  3. A deserialization error in the java console for com.wily.reporting.common.IReportService.  This only happened once but I didn't keep the stack trace.  I think it couldn't load the class.
  4. Forced logout with the message "[INFO] [Workstation.Login] Logged out user "Admin."  Sometimes.

 

On login, I get this, which might be relevant:
