Though you have not provided details on the issue, you can try couple of steps for KD opening issue :
1. pdm_cache_refresh -t SKELETONS [ this will clear the cache on KD table and potentially fix the issue of long response time]
2. pdm_k_reindex -pm [ This option will fix any reindexing issue or attached image issue in the KD. Try this on a running primary or Background server]
