    Posted Apr 27, 2016 04:04 AM

    Hi All,

I would like to know what items in CA PM to monitor for to ensure smooth operations.  Which includes:

    Performance Center

    Data Aggregator

    Data Repository

    Data Collector

Basically, I want to ensure smooth operations for CAPM, what processes, partitions, CPU, Memory, network, etc should I be watching.  This would also help in capacity planning so that I can tell my management on the overall health of CAPM.  Should I have the need to expand, I will need to explain why.... having items monitored in charts would help a lot.

    Thanks.

    Hi Narongkij,

You can do the usual monitoring of a server which is, look at the cpu, memory, disk io, network etc. Using a system edge agent and discovering the device in CAPC would get you these.

In addition, there is a "System health" monitoring in CAPC. This is one of the menu options as soon as you login to CAPC.

DA is automatically discovered and statistics pulled for key metrics.

In addition, you can use Application Performance Management (APM) which is another product within CA which is used to look how a process is behaving. At this stage, there is no direct integration, however there are scripts that are available with which you can monitor the karaf.

    Hi Seenu,

If I was using UIM, and if I wanted to monitor processes, which processes should I be monitoring for?... across PC, DA, DC, & DR.

    Thanks,
