Hi , Could any one please let me know how to add a project to a portfolio and also how to remove it from the same portfolio.
2 ways to include the project to a portfolio:
1. Access the portfolio.
2. Access the Contents Editor tab
2.1 Click on Add button under the Individual Investments section, and select the required project/investment, OR
2.2.1 Under the Include and Filter Investments, click the checkbox against the Investment Type, and click on Include
2.2.2 Create the power filter to match the investment/project criteria
2.2.3 Click on Sync Now button
To remove the project/investment:
If you have added the project/investment exclusively under Individual Investments section, select the checkbox against the investment/project, and click on Remove button
If you have gone via the power filter route, edit the power filter condition to exclude the investment/project
Following up on the great steps that navzjoshi00 provided, I want to direct you to the official CA PPM documentation on this subject:
Using, Portfolio Management, Create a Portfolio of Investments, Build the Portfolio Content
And don't forget the the often forgotten about "Help" option on the upper right of the page. Just type "Add to Portfolio" and search. You'll want to select the section "Build the portfolio content"
I am personally not very happy with the help section in 14.3 which leads to docops, it was way better in 14.1 / 13.3 where everything was segregated and categorized properly.
I'm sorry to hear that you are not happy. We are always looking for ways to improve, so let's do this. Please use the link I've provided below which takes you to the main page of the CA PPM Documentation:
CA PPM - 14.4
After you do that, please log in, go to a particular page, and add your suggestions for improvement. Please make sure to add explicit notes, examples, and so forth. The more information you add with details, examples, etc. the better! After you do that, the CA PPM writers are notified that you added a comment, we'll see your detailed comments for improvement, and we can start a conversation with you to help improve.
Thank you, and looking forward to hearing from you on our CA PPM DocOps Platform!
