Are you using wget to get the downloader executable for the UIM web page (http://"uimserver":8080)?
i put the location package to the server with the SFTP(secureCRT)
please input "path" only.
For example, if you placed "install_LINUX_***.zip" in /root/UIM, please give "/root/UIM" to prompt.

Not really an answer to the question, but perhaps another solution to install robots on a linux machine. In my experience, it works best using an answer file. (using the answer file in windows as well, because the default installer always seems to use the 32bit robot)
You create a text file called nms-robot-vars.cfg
This has the following info in it:
Copy the installer to /opt in target system (installers are downloaded from the primary hub page (http://uimserver:8080)
Copy the nms-robot-vars.cfg answer file in the same folder
Install the robot, for example
rpm -ivh nimsoft-robot.<arch>.rpm
Robot is installed in /opt/nimsoft
(sudo, su -c, or root user) bash RobotConfigurer.sh
This will write the config of the answer file to the robot. It's important for both the installer and the answer file to be in the /opt directory for this method to work.
Start the robot: service nimbus start
Works like a charm in our environment.

BTW, how to set the robot_mode = passive?
You've got it already, put the following key in the robot.cfg
robot_mode = passive
Then you will need to add the passive robot in the hub manually.
Be careful when using passive robots because there is no failover for them.
btw the robot has 2 ip , how can i switch the robot IP in IM？ as the ip（which be scaned automaticilly） is not available
You can set the robot IP manually in robot.cfg:
robotip = 22.214.171.124
If it doesn't show up correctly in IM, go to the hub GUI, 'Robots' tab and remove it, and it will pop back in after a bit (or after a restart.)
Tks a lot. it works , but there is a new problem...... it shows error as the screenshot when i configure the controller or distribute the new probes to robot.
ps: the robot.cfg has contained the domain
When you specify the path to the directory containing the install file, try adding a trailing forward slash. Ex. "/file/location/", instead of just "/file/location". It sounds ridiculous, but that's the only way nimldr finds it for me.
the location of nimldr.tar.z is "/root/eicc" just as the screenshot shows.
it doesnot work . both the "/root/eicc" or "/root/eicc/" are wrong. the result as below
The answer to the question 'do we have the installation files locally" is NO. The only thing you've downloaded so far is the nimloader binaries, not the installation files which are back on the primary hub. The next question will ask where to find the installation files, give it the IP address of the primary UIM server.
the robot server is a cloud server, so it must be the passive mode , i put the wrong package (nimldr) before , so it always wrong whatever i choose the yes or no to the quetion"do we have the installation files locally"
now i put the rpm package to the server, it works after i install the robot according to the CA document。

make sure the domain / hub and hubname are all spelled correctly in the robot.cfg
These are also case sensitive.
make sure you have added the passive robot to the appropriate hub per the documentation.

The Robot tab lets you set the alarm level for robots and displays robot information.
Right-click in the window to open a menu with the following options:
Add Passive Robot - open the dialog to add a passive robot
you might also set the hub loglevel to 3 and logsize to 15000 and the controller loglevel to 3 and logsize to 3000

Has anyone tried installing a robot/hub on one of Amazons AWS Images? We are trying to install on:

Is this a supported OS for a robot\hub install? We are at the same point in the installer where it asks for the installer files and just keeps asking us. Also tried pointing to one of our tunnel servers and it has all the install_* file in its archive but no go. Keeps coming back asking..
can you use the nimldr-d 5 switch and provide details from the logs?
I believe that 4.14.70 is too new a kernel for UIM to support.

Where should NMS be installed?
We need to install a hub here. Is there a newer nimldr and installer file available ?
Ok just grabbed the nimldr-7.93.tar.Z and the install_LINUX_23-7_93.zip file off the downloads page and same result.
Does it matter if this is an Amazon Linux 2 AMI ? Does that make a difference?
Probably UIM does not support that level of kernel as hub.
