Hi, we are on 14.2 version of PPM. I have a question regards to "Schedule %".
Can someone give me an example or tell me how schedule % gets calculated?
the calculation for schedule % is:
Days Late / the duration of the summary task.
There are few things need to be careful with:
1. when you calculate the duration, you will have to include end date in calculation (1 day is added)
2. If there's a baseline, you will have to use the summary task's baseline start & finish date to calculate the duration
3. Even though schedule % shows two decimal digits, however, it's actually round off two decimal digits. For example: the schedule % shows 14.60, but the actually result is 14.57858
Isn't this similar to the below?
Thank you for the reply. However, I don't think Schedule Variance % is the same as Schedule %. Any idea?
Thank You for keeping me updated!

Thank you for the info. Can you also provide what Object is this?
Correct. All good responses. As used in the Milestones portlet:
Indicates days late as a percentage of the summary task or project timeframe, which is finish date minus start date.
If the milestone has a parent task in the WBS, then the parent task timeframe is used in the calculation. If the milestone is at the top level of the WBS and does not have a parent task, then the project timeframe is used in the calculation. The calculation takes into account the milestone status and baseline (if a baseline exists). The color of the stoplight indicates if the milestone is on schedule or late.
■ Green. The milestone is ahead of schedule or on schedule.
■ Yellow. The milestone is between one and ten percent late.
■ Red. The milestone is more than ten percent late.
■ White. The schedule percentage is undefined.
Thank you. But I am still confused about the calculation. Here's an example:
I have a milestone called "milestone 1" and the finish date is 3/21/2016, baseline finish date is 3/21/2016
Days Late shows RED 53
Schedule % shows RED (More than 10% Late) 12.10
Why Schedule % is 12.10? What's the formula?
A low chart would illustrate that better than a 1000 words
That is a good answer as well.
Is that in the documentation?
If so what search term should I used to get it?
If not please add it.
The system should be transparent and user friendly andso that the user does not need support to interpreter to understand what the numbers mean an how they are calculated.
