I am a newbie to CA Service Desk. I just want to know if there is a way to know whether a session is valid ? How will we know if a session expires? I read that the default is 60minutes.
Session management in CA Service Desk Manager is handled by the webengine process, and is controlled by a session timeout setting in the web.cfg files. By default it is set to 60 minutes, but it can be changed. If a session expires, the user will get a popup saying that their session expired and they need to re-login. Additonally, the user will get a popup before the session expires stating that the session will expire in X number of minutes. The user can click on that popup to stay logged in and continue their session. Now keep in mind all of this only occurs if there is NO activity on that session. Each time the user clicks on something in that session, that session timer is restarted for that session.
