Track DotNet Application (that runs outside IIS) on Team Center?

  • 1.  Track DotNet Application (that runs outside IIS) on Team Center?

    Hi guys.

Is that possible to track performance issues for a DotNet Application (that runs outside IIS) on Team Center? This application only has backends no frontends.

    I am running APM 10.1

    Thank you.

It could as long as we can get transaction traces from the instrumentation of that application.

Follow the instructions in the deploying a .NET agent using the application configuration file.

    Hi Haruhiko,

On the Application Configuration File what should be edited in order to have the application visible on Team Center? I was browsing the product documentation and found a few options:

Configuring .NET Agent Properties - CA Application Performance Management - 10.1 - CA Technologies Documentation https://docops.ca.com/ca-apm/10-1/en/implementing-agents/net-agent/configuring-net-agent-properties#Configuring.NETAgentProperties-UsingtheTagScriptUtility

    Thank you.

You'll just need to test it out first to see if the agent OOTB will provide instrumentation that can used for transaction tracing. There's nothing to configure.

What may happen if we can't pick up the transactions, then some sort of tracer will need to be developed for your application.

    Ok,

At this moment I am able to trace transactions for those agents normaly. What is the next step in this scenario?

    Best regards.

You're able to see traces from your instrumented application, then look to see if you can see the app your Team Center perspective. Try using the 'end-user,application' perspective.

    HI Alexandre:

An answer has been provided and you may need to pursue custom instrumentation. Are there additional questions or may we mark this as closed?

    Thanks

    Hallet,

Please dont close it, I need to validate Attibute Rules first.

    Thank you.

    Hi Alexandre:

The original question has been answered. SO I am marking this as answered. I have created a new branch on the custom attribute question

    Thanks
