    Hello Guys,

     

    Can you throw some light on this issue.

     

    When we launch the discovery wizard and select the discovery agent (problem with few discovery agents pointed to Hub 1), it doesn't show up the profiles but throw the below error.

     

    Unable to acquire version information. Please check discovery agent and try again.

     

    The other issue is, when we select discovery agent (Pointed to Hub 2) and start the discovery, it just pops up the below error message.

     

    An error occured while starting discovery on. Please check the agent status and try again.

     

    Any one faced the similar issues. We are on version 8.2

    Hello,

     

    Could you confirm the version of hubs in your environment?

    The hubs in question, are they tunneled?

    Hi Hemanth,

     

    Hub is running on 7.80 version.

    Assuming the hubs are tunneled, on the tunnel servers and tunnel clients make the following changes to make the tunnels more stable -

     

    queue_growth_size = 300

    postroute_interval = 180

    postroute_passive_timeout = 180

    postroute_reply_timeout = 300

    hubs_update_interval = 600

    hub_request_timeout = 300

     

    change all client connections

    heartbeat = 600

     

    change the tunnel server

    ssl_session_cache_size = 3072

    session_pool_size = 29

     

    Added first Tunnel port on the tunnel server to 48050

    first_tunnel_port = 48050

    We have made the suggested changes, however it didn't improve the situation. I am receiving the same errors while launching discovery wizard.

    I am assuming you have made changes on all the hub probes and restarted them.  Better open a case with CA.

    Yes Hemanth, we have updated on all the hub probes and restarted, still no luck.

    Opened a case with CA Support and they suggested to upgrade UIM to latest version. We are planning to upgrade UIM.

    The problem is when you upgrade and even then the problem continues

    Hi, I have the same problem, and maybe this KB resolve the issue (Getting error while running discovery wizard for r - CA Knowledge ). A step for resolution indicate make a query to delete discovery agent (delete from CM_DISCOVERY_AGENT where hub = '<Hubname>' ), but when tryed apply the query this not found.

     

    delete from CM_DISCOVERY_AGENT where origin = 'Hub-Customer'

     

    Msg 547, Level 16, State 0, Line 1

    The DELETE statement conflicted with the REFERENCE constraint "FK_CM_COMPUTER_SYSTEM_CM_DISCOVERY_AGENT". The conflict occurred in database "CA_UIM", table "dbo.CM_COMPUTER_SYSTEM", column 'da_id'.

    The statement has been terminated.

     

    Anyone to resolve this issue with this KB ?

    if you want to remove discovery_agent entry from uim database, please use this.

    How can I delete a Discovery Agent from the Discov - CA Knowledge 

    we have stored procedure named - P_CM_REMOVE_DISCOVERY_AGENT

    Yu we have a problem with the discovery agent "Unable to acquire version information. Please check discovery agent and try again." This kb https://comm.support.ca.com/kb/getting-error-while-running-discovery-wizard-for-remote-hub/kb000007298 indicate that to resolved this problem we need delete discovery_agent.

     

    You think that this be the correct?

    This procedure not delete the scope and snmp configuration of the wizard?
