  • 1.  Passing Values to a Start Request Form

I'm wondering if it is possible to pass a variable to a Start Request Form prior to a process being kicked off? I'm trying to initiate a process via a pop up window that links to the form, but what I need is some way to link it to a CA Service Desk which means I need to pass either a ref_num or persid to the form.

Please let me know if this is possible or not.

    Thanks,

The supported way to launch a PAM process from Service Desk is either to link the process to a change category or request/incident/problem area - in which case the process is launched when a ticket is raised with the corresponding category or area - or to use an event to fire a Service Desk macro that is designed to launch a PAM process.  Either way, the PAM process is passed the persid of the ticket in whose context it is launched, through the Start Request Form that is associated with the process.  If you don't already have any examples, then I'd recommend looking at the CA Service Manager Sample Content for ITIL.  How are you trying to launch your process?
