Trying to get Open Workbench to work on VDI but no having any success.
There are discussions mentioning that some people got it to work but no details.
I was wondering if anyone is able to provide some guidance?
Perhaps you need to expand on what you are doing and what is not working?
(don't think I've ever run it on a VDI, but in theory it should all be OK - subject to the permissions / setup of the VDI of course)
It would help if you have a persistent VDI - that is what you install will stay there and you do not have to install it again for every session.
You would need permissions to install to the VDI instance, modify its registry and have folders for the views where you have permissions to write and modify.
You would also need a supported version of jre.
All the details please and the step you are trying and how far you get and the result there.
I work exclusively on a VDI and have never had any issues with OWB following a standard install, nothing out of the ordinary. What exactly is happening?
If this is assumed to be answered, please let me know the answer.
I have struggled with this. I got it working, but it was not a piece of cake.
I should like to know what was the problem in this case and how that was solved.
I do not see a single solution in this thread.
