Hi community, i created a field initialy on "integer" type but it was a mistake, it must to be "string". Is possible to change this? how i can do this?
This should be possible, I haven't had to do this but the steps mentioned below should work. I don't recommend doing this to a production system. First backup up the files mentioned below and the database.
1: Stop Service Desk services
2: Update the custom field in wsp.mod, change the custom field from INTEGER to STRING
3: Update wsp_schema.sch, change the custom field from INTEGER to STRING
4: Update ddict.sh, change the custom field from INTEGER to STRING (This might not be necessary, but for good measure I suggest this step)
5: Update the entry in the database table dbo.wspcol, find the row for the custom field and change the type column in that row to the value 2.
6. Using SQL Server Management studio, navigate to the custom table, expand the columns, right click on the one you need to modify and click modify. Now change the data type to int.
7. Start Service Desk Manager and test
Very good my friend! I will test and post here the results...
Thanks for Replying Grant! Thats a great How-To
Just a note... You may try these steps before any data is updated in these attribute. If there exist any data , then there are some chances of it getting corrupted. Take a backup first.
