Ping : Unknown host or scope_id was specified for a global IPv6 address

  • 1.  Ping : Unknown host or scope_id was specified for a global IPv6 address

    Hi,

    When I am trying to use ITPAM Ping operator I am getting this error:

    Unknown host or scope_id was specified for a global IPv6 address

     

    Anybody faced this error before? Is this some configuration problem at ITPAM or target server issue. I am able to connect to target machine using its IPV4 address

    Did some quick testing in a LAB, I am able to ping IPV6 Addresses without error.

     

    Some googling seems to indicate that you need to specify the interface you want to use to send the ping request

    Try filling in the "Local IP Address" and see if that helps.
