  • 1.  Update a step in a preplan

    Posted Aug 12, 2016 04:46 AM

    Hello,

I'm developing a process that needs to update some variables of a step (coming from a template).

These steps with those values are going to be used in all of the releases.

When I launched  the action of modify an step I got next error

I have looked if there is any other action/rest to do it in a preplan step, but di not find it.

Do you know if it exist?

    regards

    Javi

I explain a bit more the use case.

From JIRA I will get a list of which steps of the deployment should be executed in all of the environments.

So at the begining of each step I test if I have to execute or I haven't.

I know that sometines someone (that is not administrator) will have to connect to CARA to change this value, just editing the content of the variable that is an user Input.

This is the reason why I'm not using a release parameter.

    regards

    HI Javi

Which action are you trying to use?

How you store the list of steps you getting from JIRA?

When user can change the list of steps? (PrePlan/ pre deployment )?

    Thanks

    Hello Jacky,

I have in CARA a template with all of the steps to execute.

In JIRA teh user select which steps have to be executed.

At the beginning of each step I check the content of the user input variable "Estado_Step" is RUNNING or CANCELLED

All of the steps contains that action (If Estado_Steo = RUNNING). That value is the one updated from JIRA.

We use "User Input" becasuse I know that sooner or earlier this value will be modified manually.

For modifying that variable we are using next action:
