Hi experts.

We are unable to create dashboards on advanced reporting from an adhoc view that created from a topic.

it is showing "an unexpected error has occured"

there is no errors on jasper logs

and the same view is running successfully when selecting it individually.

Note:- it is possible if you are creating the view directly from domain.but as a topic it is not working

please advice

What version of PPM you are running, I am testing the same using 14.4 and it does work?

I am using CA PPM 14.3 .

Let me explain what am doing.

I am login to advanced reporting using a user which having the following roles.

CF_Portfolio_Mgr(Custom role),

ROLE_ADHOC_DESIGNER,

ROLE_DASHBOARD_DESIGNER,

ROLE_REPORT_DESIGNER,

ROLE_USER

1.created adhoc report using home--> create adhoc view

2.selected the in build FInancial Management domain and chose the required fields.

3.Navigate to Save as topic

4.Saved the topic under "MyOrganization"-->"My OrganizationViews"-->"Financial Management"-->"Topic"-->TestTopic

5.Created the view according to this topic--->TestView

6.Topic Saved.

7.Navigate to HOME-->Create Dashboards-->Drag "Test view" to it ..

Getting the below error :-

couldn't find any logs for this error in the back end

However I would like to know why you would want to save a topic and create a view and use that view in dashboard?

I did another test, created a view saved it and used the same view in dashboard and it works.

On the right side navigation panel of "Create Dashboard ".There listed all the views the users is access to.

So while drag and drop that views to dashboard the user doesn't know whetherit is created from a domain or topic.

whether it's directly from a domain or topic it should work right??that's why

Agreed it looks buggy, if you create a view from Topic and use in dashboard it breaks. Stay tuned I will work with Jaspersoft and come back to you.

I am working with Jaspersoft and it certainly looks like a bug and I don't have a workaround yet.

Hi Harun,

I created a bug  CLRT-81070  Dashboard cannot be created from adhoc views created from Topic and once I find the fix will update you. 

The cause behind the same is we are hiding the default topic folder from the organization created, so we need to re evaluate.
