  • 1.  CP2 - offline reporting

    Hi,

We have the documents for CA on cp2 installation procedure but havent found anything when we have the replication configured.

Can I only apply the CP2 on real database and leave the patches on offline service desk application.

If need to apply the CP2, is it required to stop/disable/delete the snapshot. Im affraid, if need to delete the snapshot then to recreate it, its going to take a day long.

We have catalog, sdm in AA, eem, pam, uss and cabi in our environment.

    Hi Sharath,

Being that the CP2 patch includes an MDB update, you would want to apply that to the offline database also which would require you to stop replication and rebuild it.  You would also want to apply the patches to the offline SDM reporting instance.  The steps that we recommend are as follows:

    1. stop replication

    2. apply patches to online/prod system (including db patch)

    3. apply patches to offline reporting system (both application and db)

    4. re-instate the replication following the instructions found here:

Implement Replication - CA Service Management - 14.1 - CA Technologies Documentation

Unfortunately to answer your question, YES, do to this properly you need to break replication, and then rebuild it, which will take some time.

    Thanks,

    Jon I.
