  • 1.  Access to Timesheets lost in PPM 15.1

    Posted Sep 01, 2016 09:57 AM

    Hi guys!

We've recently performed a fresh install of CA PPM 15.1 and configured everything needed (in past versions) for Timesheets to work, but for some reason the link in the top menu doesn't appear.   If we enter the direct link to edit timesheets the page is there and the user is able to enter his time.   As you can see next:

Do you have any ideas of what could be the problem?

    Thanks!

The menu item is there btw

and the permission was given too

So at this point we don't know

    Thanks!

    Hi Patricio,

Its not lost, if you go under Administration --> System Option you will see the NEW USER Experience. If you Activate Timesheet then you can see only using new UI and not Classic PPM.

    Hi Suman!

Funny enough deactivating the New User experience did the trick.  LOL

    Take a look:

Now we wonder what do we loose by deactivating the New User Experience?

    Thanks!

    Hi Patricio,

If you deactivate the same you will only use the classic PPM, if you want to use the new UI then you activate the same and access through new URL

    http://servername/pm/

This is one of the new feature provided with 15.1, please find the latest documentation for 15.1

    Hi Suman,

I'll add something else I noticed.

if you do activate the timesheet new UX, any users with project navigate will also see the project new UX.

Unless I am mistaken, there is no supported way to turn this project UX off right now.

New UX - Ability to toggle "Activate Projects" like timesheets

    One to watch out for!

    Hi Andrew,

That is by design, if you see until you Check Activate New User Experience you cannot Activate Timesheets. So its imperative to use new UX for Project to have new timesheet and not vice versa.

if you deactivate it then you can't use the new UX

it will load but then redirect to "old" clarity
