    Hello everyone,

We announced GA of CA Spectrum 10.1.2 few hours back! This is the much awaited release as it is primarily focused on CA Spectrum-CA Unified Infrastructure Management integration.  We had a bunch of customers try and test it through the beta validation program where most of them were able to test the core use cases. The feedback helped us improve the integration and make it better.

Below are the key capabilities that the release boasts of:

    • Inventory Sync
    • Manage a VMware as a server
    • Support for Bi-Directional Alarm Sync
    • Ticket-ID sync

You can get more information from the release notes. The download will be available at the CA support site. The key use cases were also shown in the demo in the community webcast conducted on 14th September'16. The webinar recording is posted on CA Community for your reference.

Questions/comments/feedback are most welcome. Please feel free to reach out to us!

    Regards,

    Sheenam Gupta

Can you please confirm. If we upgrade to 10.1.2 do we still need to patch it for the certificate expiry issue on OneClick servers? I'm assuming not, but would like an official response as I'm not to keen on assumptions!

No, there is no additional patching needed for customers at or going to 10.1.1 or 10.1.2.  The certificate included in these releases has already been updated.

We upgraded from r10.1.0 to r10.1.2 this past week.  We had installed several patches to fix issues and are now finding that those fixes were not included in r10.1.2.  Is there a list of patches which were not rolled up into r10.1.2?

    Hi Brian,

In the PTF patch release note there is a defect number. You can cross reference it here:

    https://docops.ca.com/ca-spectrum/10-1-and-10-1-1/en/release-information/issues-resolved#IssuesResolved-IssuesResolvedinCASpectrum10.1.1

If it’s not in that list, it’s most likely not in the patch and we would need to rebuild it.

Please open a case to have PTFs rebuilt, as we do have some in progress already.

    Cheers

    Jay

We had installed PTF_10.1.010, PTF_10.1.012, and PTF_10.1.029.  The descriptions of those are in the Spectrum 10.1.0 Patch List document.   It looks like of those three, only PTF_10.1.012 is in r10.1.2.

This week I also discovered that PTF_10.1.020 was also not included in r10.1.2.

    Thanks.

PTF_10.1.017, which I had previously applied, was also not included in r10.1.2.  So as a result there are duplicate wireless AP models being created.  This is frustrating for our users of Spectrum.

Apologizes for the frustration.  The 10.1.1 and 10.1.2 releases were built to deliver only new functionality and enhancements to the Spectrum & UIM integration.  Therefore, existing PTF patches did not roll into these releases if they did not contain any fixes for the integration and instead are being added to the 10.2 major release.

The patch list documents will be updated and a new one created for 10.1.2 so that you all know what we have already rebuilt or need to request.
