    Hi All,

We would like to upgrade our Enterprise Manager from version 12.8 to 12.9 and we have database is built with High Availability. Like with primary and secondary data base for EM .

Now, When we are upgrading the Enterprise Manager MDB on the database server, Do we need upgrade MDB on both primary and secondary server DB? And also MDB is not installed on default instance.

Let me know for any information.

    Thanks and Regards

When you have a primary and secondary server, that is called a cluster. There should be a cluster name that is used to access both drives.   ITCM will get pointed to that cluster name.  Make sure you can access that cluster name with the specific instance and port name using you Windows account and make sure that Windows account is a sysadmin for SQL, not just for the mdb.

Also if you are in the process of upgrading , why are you going to R12.9, when R14 is out and includes a few new features (updated Patch Manager) and many Testfixes that were needed for R12.9.

In addition to Gordons post remember that on a SQL cluster there is only one db which is on a shared drive and shared by all nodes in the cluster.

As far as client auto is concerned therefore there is only one mdb to be upgraded
