Rank in Backlog vs User Stories

When using Drag-and-Drop sorting, the Backlog and User Stories' rank order doesn't match. I sorted the "User Stories" list in order of priority, because you can see the hierarchy of parent/child stories. However this had no effect on the order of the backlog. So, two questions:
1. Is there a way to match the Backlog rank order and the User Stories rank order (especially if you want to sort the User Stories)
2. Can you show the parent/child relationships of stories in the Backlog? This is why I like the "User Stories" view, so I can sort an entire parent story in the backlog (with all its children kept with the parent).
I'm sure I'm just missing something. Any advice is appreciated!
