CA Service Management

  • 1.  Monitoring CABI services

I recently had to scramble to get CABI (4.1) back up and running on a busy Monday morning when I got multiple calls telling me that people were not receiving their scheduled reports.

I would like to find a good way to be able to do this pro-actively and would like to know what methodology other organizations use to monitor the tomcat and SIA services.  I would like to put in a process that monitors and notifies me by email when one of these services has stopped running.

Any information on this would be very much appreciated.

    Victor............

In CABI 4.x, there is a 'Monitoring' application within the Central Management Console (CMC).

Logon to the CMC as an Administrator and you should see the 'Monitoring' application in the drop-down list.

    Hello Paul,

Thanks for pointing me to the 'monitoring' application in CABI.

I have looked at it and am not sure how to set up what I'm trying to do.  I looked online but haven't had any luck finding any documentation on monitoring.  If you could possibly tell me where this documentation is located, I would certainly appreciate it.
