The field is not available to select and we have verified manual ranking is selected on our workspace. We can see the ranks in the backlog, iteration views, etc.

As the KanBan app is a ranking tool as well as a workflow tool the position the cards hold in the column indicates their ranking.

The Rank field itself is not available for display on the cards for this very reason. If, however, you are using a Manually Ranked workspace then the drag and drop ranking of cards is no longer supported and the rank value us still not available for display.

We do not suggest using manual ranking if you want to follow KanBan methodologies.

That is helpful in making sure we don't keep trying to add them back. (note: there some individuals at our company that can still see rank on their cards, but suspect it is because they created the Kanban board before the rank field was removed on purpose)  

As a note to CA Technologies:  this does not help us manage our work better.  Deciding to purposely not let us see it actually makes it harder to use your tool and pushes us towards using a different tool.    There are reasons to use a Kanban board and ranking.  1. Sometimes you need to see the entire project in a single view in the order they are ranked so keeping the ranking numbers in tact is important.  (And the portfolio view is not a substitute for different reasons I've already worked with consultants on)  2.  sometime team members need to know the ranking between columns for when one catches up and surpassing another. 3.  priorities(ranking) change and having to go find it via another screen is inefficient. Why not have it displayed like you would in the iteration view?
