Knowing that HttpServletDispatcher handles requests made by users, we can say that this is also the number of visits?
I need to diagnose the total number of visits in the day!

The httpservletdispatcher will forward get and post requests to/from sites.  So to me, it will still dispatch the request if the site is down but return with an error stating such a problem.  In my opinion, it would be counted that the request was dispatched but not entirely count as a visit.
