We have found that MSP 2013 Professional has features that are not supported in CA PPM 14.2. For example, MSP Professional allows a project manager to mark tasks "inactive" which is not supported in CA PPM 14.2. As a result, effort (ETC, Actuals) in CA PPM may be greater than MSP if inactive tasks have remaining work and/or posted actuals. To address this issue, we mapped a custom field in CA PPM that pulls data from a flag field in MSP to allow filtering for inactive tasks in CA PPM. Project Managers/Schedulers are responsible for updating the flag field in MSP if they choose to use inactive tasks. There may be other features in MSP Professional that are not supported in your version of CA PPM that you may need to find work arounds for if your users choose to use them.
