I have a group using the RESTful API.  They are entering a UIM user and password that was created inside of UIM.  Since they are creating an alarm from the outside of UIM, is there a way to encrypt that password so their scripts won't show it in plain text?

I remember in the past when Nimsoft didn't encrypt passwords, we had a utility that we could use to encrypt a password if needed.  Is that utility still available and can we use it still?

    thanks

    Hi rod.cook

There is an idea opened for this in communities: Probe Password Encryption Via RestFUL API . Please feel free to vote for it and leave your comments.

Also, googling this I found an interesting post on securing passwords for REST authentication that may be useful: hash - Securing passwords for REST Authentication - Information Security Stack Exchange

    I hope it helps.
