The Unit displayed with CA SYSVIEW DASD command is 3390-9 for all DASD devices that are 3390-9 or larger.  Is this a bug?

    Hi Jon,

SYSVIEW is reporting these devices as they have been defined by IBM.
The MVS command DEVSERV display also shows these devices as model 9 (33909).

In the case of a model 27 , the model 27 is a concept and not a physical device.
There is no model 27 DASD, it is a model 9 with additional tracks.

Other software products know the device by the size. See the following link:

Should I open an idea for this support?

Yes.  That would be my suggestion.

    Apologies.
